Google searches offer a revealing look into the hive mind, and in the world of crypto they provide a unique perspective on which coins are grabbing the most attention.
Although Bitcoin still commands the top spot for crypto searches by far, outpacing searches for Beyoncé, the overall trend for Bitcoin searches is down, along with the bear market.
In recent months, the Bitcoin-to-Beyoncé comparison has been used as the de facto yardstick to measure Bitcoin’s mainstream pop appeal. With that in mind, here’s a look at Bitcoin vs. Beyoncé over the last 30 days in the US and worldwide.
As for altcoins, four cryptocurrencies led the way in the month of June.
EOS, NEO, Tron and Ripple topped the charts for web searches on Google Trends. In the US, EOS beat NEO by a slim margin, followed by Tron, Ripple and Ethereum.
Worldwide, NEO is the clear leader, with the rest falling in line.
EOS, NEO, Tron and Ripple all managed to surpass Ethereum, the second biggest cryptocurrency by market cap.
