At a time when the price of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are experiencing a significant slump, causing the enthusiasm of some in the virtual currency ecosystem to get cold, Bitcoin Argentina and Bitcoin Latin America are painting the town gold with their Latin American cryptocurrency sensitization initiative.
The Gospel of Bitcoin
According to local news source Cripto247, NGO’s Bitcoin Argentina and Bitcoin Latin America are focused primarily on increasing local awareness of the pioneer cryptocurrency.

“It’s a dream to bring Bitcoin and Blockchain technology to Latin America to those people who do not have access to knowledge, the idea of Bitcoineta is to reach every small town and city in Argentina and then the rest of America, teaching people how they can benefit from this technology,” said one of the campaign officials, Gabriel Kurman.
Equipped with food, tools, a projector, and other valuables, the van has all the necessary materials that would facilitate the team’s regional campaign. They plan to educate non-tech savvy citizens and crypto greenhorns through films and other digital materials.
One of the conveners of the campaign, Julian Drangosch, a professor at the National Technological University of Argentina (UTN) iterated the need to enlighten the masses on the groundbreaking technology in order to prepare for a better future. In the professor’s words:
“The first times you hear about these technologies, it is difficult to understand all the implications that you have today and in the future, and to start sowing this blockchain seed in the different communities will allow us to collect the fruits in a few years.”
The tour began on June 1, 2018, from Chascomus, Argentina where the project is primarily located. The team is looking to take their Bitcoin gospel to various cities in the Buenos Aires province including Las Toninas, Tandil, Necochea, Tres Arrollos, Villa Ventana, Bahia Blanca and several others between June and July.

Championing the Revolution
The Argentine crypto industry is one of the most vibrant in the South American continent, with a number of its citizens making their mark in the global cryptocurrency ecosystem. One notable individual is the founder of the Xapo bitcoin wallet and vault, Wences Casares.
Back in April, the nation celebrated “Bitcoin Day,” with roughly 500 enthusiasts present at the event held in Buenos Aires where many important issues were discussed. On May 22, 2018, BTCManager also reported that Argentina’s Banco Masventas (BMV) had joined forces with Bitex cryptocurrency exchange to launch a Bitcoin-powered cross-border payment solution.
At current, the country’s love for the ecosystem’s first cryptocurrency knows no bounds and is expected to grow even more as NGOs like Bitcoin Argentina and Bitcoin Latin America continue spreading the word of a decentralized future.
