Asus Set to Roll out Crypto Mining Motherboard Supporting 20 GPUs

Posted on juni 2, 2018 by Blockchain News

Asus, the multinational computer hardware giant, has announced it would roll out it’s newly designed H370 Mining Master motherboard which is said to support up to 20 graphics cards (GPUs) on a single unit and hence offer cryptocurrency miners up to 20 times more mining power than the other motherboards.

Specs of the H370 Mining Master Motherboard

The aim was not only to give miners more power to earn more but also make the miners maintenance-friendly, especially for big mining farms. The H370 Mining Master should be available for purchase by Q3 2018 in North America. The price is to be announced and the hardware can be seen in action at the Computex 2018 in Taipei, Taiwan over June 5-9.

The H370 Mining Master is said to ensure very low to no PCIe disconnects, and a better accurate diagnostics in case of any such occurrence. According to company’s announcement post, this approach was way better than having to plug in the graphics card to a motherboard using PCIe like it is done on a gaming desktop.

The H370 Motherboard is considered to be a replacement to its predecessors which only had one slot with an array of vertical PCIe-over-USB ports that allows riser cables connect directly to the motherboard. The main feature is its GPU State Detection that scans the system during it booting process and indicates if any port is empty or merely having a connection fault.

Asus’ official announcement read “Less time maintaining your machine means more time mining with it, which is why the H370 Mining Master includes a suite of diagnostic features designed to make your platform easier to manage.”

More Companies Shift to the Crypto Mining Industry

Until the introduction of cryptocurrency mining, boards explicitly built for gaming were the most powerful. The introduction of virtual currencies has changed that. Very powerful systems are now being developed to serve the purpose of mining virtual currencies like ether, monero, and zcash.

Because mining itself is a game of numbers, it is imperative that what you make exceeds the cost of the device you use in mining to get your return on investment quickly.

It is not the first cryptocurrency miner Asus have produced. In 2017, the company released the Asus B250 Mining Expert which was reported to make industrial scale cryptocurrency mining extremely efficient and profitable.

But not just Asus, some companies are already producing bitcoin miners and even more tech companies making up their minds to begin production of cryptocurrency mining devices. Companies such as Samsung have been the latest companies to pursue the angle of manufacturing chips that will bring more efficiency into the crypto mining game.

With these companies already producing and more companies coming up, we should see a drop in the price of cryptocurrency miners as competition grows by the day.

Is the crypto miner manufacturing industry getting more competitive? Will it turn out to be positive for cryptocurrency prices? Share your views in the comments section.
