On 5th August, the official Twitter handle of VeChain Foundation announced that VeChain has been selected by NTT Docomo as its first set of partners for the 5G Open Partner Program released by Docomo, the biggest mobile network in Japan.

Established in 1991, NTT Docomo is the biggest mobile-networking organization in Japan, holding a share of 45.3% of the entire cell phone subscriptions as recorded in March 2018. Its latest project, 5G partner program, released on February 2018, is said to be focused on materializing its use of 5G in industries in 2020.
NTT Docomo’s objective is to improve the present level of data services inside traceability, supply chain management and mobile phones for its clients.
This program also provides partners from various fields like medicine, IT services, insurance, automobile, etc. Some of these organizations are:
- Sony
- Astellas Pharma
- The Asahi Shimbun
- MUFG Bank
- Okinawa Prefectural Government
- Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Co. Ltd.
Additionally, NTT Docomo is plunging into new technologies for cloud administrations, content, installment preparing, and AR/VR.
On the other hand, VeChain plans to give cutting-edge technology benefits by using 5G through an integration with NTT Docomo on the VeChainThor Blockchain.

VeChain recently upgraded their VeChainThor Mobile wallet, V1.1.0, that acts as a portal on VeChain blockchain for all forms of decentralized apps on the mobile network for both Android and iOS software.
Earlier this week, VeChain has partnered with DNV GL to trace drug and vaccine activities in China after an incident where school children in China were being supplied with defective vaccines as a part of a nation-wide medical camp.
